Spend a day learning about the history of Appalachian folk pottery, and create and kiln-fire your own artwork.
You’ll learn about regional variations in styles, the evolution of traditional techniques from the earliest works up through contemporary artists, and the distinct compositions of clay that are unique to different areas.
You’ll then be guided through an interactive demonstration of wheel-spun “throwing” and sculpting, where you’ll throw your own mug, pot, or other design. Mountain Marrow will carefully dry, kiln, glaze, and re-kiln your art and either ship it to you or have it available for pickup in about a week.
